LG has just taken the wraps off its new G2 flagship and has put broad smiles on the faces of geeks around the globe. There's no two ways about it - the LG G2 is a true powerhouse, combining unprecedented amounts of power with a display that's the first of its kind.
The LG G2 comes with an almost bezel-free 5.2" FullHD display that fits in a body not much bigger than the Galaxy S4. It gets even more interesting when we get to the camera. It's a 13 MP unit and it offers optical image stabilization in order to minimize camera shake and allow lower shooting speeds (and in turn lower ISO settings and lower noise) under unfavorable light.

The LG G2 comes to tackle the competition, in the faces of devices like Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One with a larger screen, more potent chipset, superior camera (on paper, at least) and bigger battery - that's certainly not a bad start. But there's more to it - take a look at the full LG G2 cheat sheet.

LG teased the LG G2 relentlessly over the past couple of weeks and it managed to build up the hype, but even so the smartphone managed to bring a few nice surprises. The battery is even larger than rumors suggested, while the OIS camera is certainly a welcome addition to the camera. The 1080p@60fps video recording is not only looking impressive on paper, but would certainly make a great difference in real-life usage.
It's clear that LG is in pole position for the smartphone crown with the G2. It waited enough so it can gain a significant advantage in terms of processing power and has put enough effort in the design to outdo its direct rivals in terms of size to screen and power ratio. There are a lot of software tweaks, too.
